Day 260: Japanese Sushi for One is being published!

I didn't do a lot on Saturday--I checked Social Media since that's the one day a week I've designated for it. I'm actually really glad I shunted social media to only one day a week. I will sometimes check social media once or maybe twice during the week, but most of the time I don't, and it's less stress for me. But I don't feel like I'm neglecting my readers since I make sure to check Facebook once a week.

Also, since I don't check social media every day anymore, I feel like I have more time to blog, which is what I enjoy most out of all my social media commitments. I've been slowly posting more on my regular blog even during the week when I usually only blog on my writing blog.

So after social media on Saturday, I was intending to do a lot of marketing work, but I started reading and it was hard for me to stop after that. So on Sunday, I did a lot of the marketing stuff I would have done on Saturday--I took care of my finances and accounting, and I did a few random marketing items.

But then the big thing I did on Sunday was finally get the ball rolling to publish the Japanese version of my book, Sushi for One. It's been fully translated and edited since October, but I was too busy writing in November, and then I had a physical and mental breakdown in December and part of January, so it just got shoved aside.

I finally got the ebook published, and I got most of the form filled out to publish the print book on Lightning Source. I have to get the .pdf file of the interior converted to a special PDF format, which my graphic designer is doing for me using InDesign. Once that's done and I submit it, I have to wait for Lightning Source to check it and send an electronic proof, and then once it's approved it can take a few weeks to appear on Amazon.

I'm feeling relieved that I finally got that almost done. For the past several years, putting out the Japanese versions of my books has become important for me, but it's been such a difficult road to self-publish in Japanese that at times it can cause me a lot of stress and make me feel overwhelmed. I think that the more often I do it, the easier it will probably be.

Maybe because today is a holiday and my husband is off work, it’s been slow for me to get started today. I also have a blog tour set up for book 1 in my series, which starts today, so I had to do some social media this morning and post the links to the blog tour stops on my blog. I probably would have had more energy for writing if I’d done social media after writing, but I had to get it done early today, so I didn’t have much choice.

So now I’ll start off by doing the editing for my manuscript. I think I can get all the editing done today and then continue with the scene I stopped earlier.

***

I finished all the editing I have to do, and finally finished editing that difficult scene.

But my back has been bothering me a lot since yesterday and it’s hard to concentrate. I wonder if I should move to my standing desk? Maybe I’ll try that and see.

***

The standing desk didn’t help, my back was still sore. I walked around a bit and also used some heating pads, and eventually my back felt better enough to sit back down and get some writing done!

***

My IBS is flaring a bit, in addition to my back, so I decided to cut short my writing and instead work on editing my Japanese Spinster’s Christmas manuscript.

***

I got a couple hours of work done on my Japanese Spinster’s Christmas, but I still have SO much more editing to do, and it’s a bit daunting. I hope that by doing a little each day, it’ll eventually get done. I don’t have a deadline for when I want to republish the corrected version, so I think it’ll be okay if it takes a while.

I really wanted to get more writing done today! I hope my back will be better tomorrow.
